Explorer Scouts make up the fourth and one of the newest sections of Scouting and is open to anyone aged between 14 and 18 years old. Although Explorer Scouts haven’t been around for 100 years (they were previously known as Rover and Venture Scouts) our values and beliefs are built firmly on Baden-Powell’s founding principles. We aim to give Explorer Scouts the opportunity to challenge their boundaries through adventurous activities and personal development.
Explorer Scouts also include anyone working as a Young Leader within one of the other sections. Young Leaders make a valuable contribution to our movement helping out the regular leaders at weekly meetings whilst also giving service to their community and growing as individuals.
Since 2002, Explorer Scouts have grown from small numbers to 30+ in the district at the present time.
